1st Cycle of Basic Education

In the first cycle, the students’ learning path is based on the curricular references currently in force: the Profile of the Student Leaving Compulsory Schooling (PASEO), the Essential Learning (EL) for the First Cycle, the Identity Profile of Students at the Dorothean Sisters’ Educational Centres (PACEID) and the National Strategy for Citizenship Education.

By promoting the integral development and harmonious growth of all the dimensions of the person, we want students to be invited to be the protagonists of their own lives and agents of change.

.

Instruct

To educate our students, as we have always done throughout our more than 100 years of existence. With quality, dynamism and character. To make known the “Worlds” that surround us today and to raise awareness of respect for their initiatives and creativity. To help them discover and strengthen all their “thinking skills” in order to help them develop critical, inventive and judicious thinking.

Include

To include the “Other” and all others, without exception, in our microworld. Educate for freedom, autonomy, dignity, solidarity and respect for nature. To lead to active learning that involves students in small projects that transcend time and space and serve as a “launch pad” for major life projects.

Investigate

To grow in always knowing more, looking for solutions to problems that arise, in a creative participation that can lead to the realisation of great ideas. To help create a greater awareness that giving all you can of yourself will help change the world. To instil a taste for creating, inventing and investigating. We encourage doubt, criticism, curiosity, risk and the adventure of being a creator.

Internalize

We lead the students to live and cherish the most beautiful Values of Life: Simplicity, Joy, Friendship, Sharing, Fraternity, Kindness and Concord. Virtues that have made the school a place of love and tolerance, where a true and genuine family spirit is lived. We are at our students’ side, giving them the tools they need to grow up serene, joyful and happy.

Innovate

Preparing future citizens for the reality of a globalised, ever-changing, knowledge-centred world where everyone is trying to compete. We want to educate for respect without borders, where the ability to create is a goal for everyone.
